Why Kids?

My new children’s book, Alice and Fay: A Fairy Adventure will be published soon.

I know, there are so many big, serious, adult problems in the world, you may be wondering, “why write a book about fairies and magic for kids?”

Here is my answer: those of us who are lucky enough to share our lives with children sometimes worry about the future they will face; we wonder how we can protect them. I think we can’t protect them, but we can help them develop the empathy, resilience and courage they will need to face that future. Good books can help, and so I wrote one, as a gift for the children I love.
